A Day in Our Life - October

8 October 1801

Harrison Allen Eccles who had died on 29 September of a "decline", aged 61, is buried in the chancel under the altar.


October 1728

The account books show several payments made to the bell ringers: 6/8 for ringing on Coronation Day and the same sum for ringing on the Prince's birthday.


October 1752

George Hodgson starts brewing beer near to the church. He develops India Pale Ale for export.



Our then Rector, Dr Robert Warren, is appointed Master of Coborn School by the school's trustees. The Rector of Stepney, Henry Locke, and the parish priest at Bromley, Benjamin Wood, complain about the £50 fee Dr Warren received.
